MORRISON’S QLD MPs M.I.A ON FLOOD ASSISTANCE

MORRISON’S QLD MPs M.I.A ON FLOOD ASSISTANCE

Scott Morrison’s Queensland MPs have joined him in hiding while he rips off Queenslanders affected by the recent floods.

In the past 24 hours, two New South Wales Coalition MPs have spoken up about their communities only receiving one third of the disaster assistance that Scott Morrison is giving to flood victims in the National Party electorate of Page.

Their efforts have not been matched by Queensland’s LNP MPs, who represent flooded towns and suburbs but have gone missing in action, just like their Prime Minister.

NSW Nationals MP for Tweed Geoff Provest has revealed he would struggle to vote for Scott Morrison after the Prime Minister’s ‘disgusting’ and ‘deplorable’ flood response.

Mr Provest has accused the Prime Minister of being ‘disconnected from the people of Australia’ and says the situation is a ‘remake of the bushfires some two years ago’.

Meanwhile NSW Liberal MP Catherine Cusack will resign over what she says is the Prime Minister’s ‘unethical’ flood assistance.

‘The idea that being a flood victim in a National Party-held seat makes you more worthy than a flood victim who is in the Richmond electorate … is probably the most unethical approach I have ever seen’, Ms Cusack said.

It begs the question, where are Scott Morrison’s Queensland MPs?

The entire south-east corner was wiped out during these floods and yet disaster victims in Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay are only eligible for $1000 payments, one third of what’s being offered to flood victims in Page.

Where is Trevor Evans, whose electorate of Brisbane was smashed by the floods? Where are Julian Simmonds, Terry Young, Bert van Manen and Llew O’Brien, whose residents have suffered so much damage?

Why aren’t these Queensland MPs standing up for their communities who’ve been devastated during this flood emergency?

If you're a flood victim, and you've got lost everything you own, you deserve support, no matter where you live.

Queensland MPs need to fight for their communities and get this assistance extended today.
